INTRODUCTION| WHAT IS LI-FI -
li-fi is the abbreviation of light light fidelity same as wi-fi. there are many similarities in li-fi and wi-fi. both of these two are used for transferring data from one place to another, one device to another, and also the device can share their location using li-fi. in li-fi light is used to transmit data. the term li-fi was first introduced in March 2011 by Harald Hass.in technical terms, li-fi can transmit data using visible light, ultraviolet, and infrared spectrums. in its present state-led bulbs are used to transmit data. bulbs are switched on and off to transfer data. but the speed of turning off and off , so fast that it is not noticeable by human eyes and also does not create flickering.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LI-FI AND WI-FI:-
The key difference between li-fi and wi-fi is that wi-fi uses a radio waver to transfer data, li-fi uses a light web/ light spectrum to transfer data. the bandwidth of wi-fi is limited where the bandwidth of li-fi is much expandable..the visible light spectrum is 100 times larger than total wi-fi frequency. li-fi also provides better speed and more reliability.TECHNOLOGY DETAILS:-
li-fi is a derivative of optical wireless communication.it uses light-emitting diodes (LED) as a medium to deliver network, mobile, high-speed communication in a similar manner wi-fi do. visible light communication works by switching currents on and off in the LEDs very quickly, too quick to be noticed by human eyes, this does not present flicker. Although li-fi LEDs would have to be kept on to transmit data, they could be dimmed to below human visibility while still emitting enough light to transmit data. but there is a problem as light can not penetrate the walls li-fi is totally localized in a room. technologies that allow as roaming between various li-fi cells, also known as handover, may allow to the seamless transition between li-fi. but there is also a good side, as light can not pass the walls no one can remotely hack or access the li-fi network, thus giving us better reliability against hacking.direct line of sight is not always necessary to li-fi be working, light reflected off the walls can achieve 70 Mbit/s
li-fi has the advantage of being useful in electromagnetic sensitives areas such as aircraft or in the hospital cabins. while US federal communications commissions have warned of a potential spectrum crisis because wi-fi is closed to full capacity,li-fi has almost no limitations on capacity. the visible light spectrum is 10,000 times larger than the entire radio frequency.researchers have reached data rates of over 224 Gbit/ s, which is much faster than wi-fi or broadband. short-range high installation charge are some potential downsides of li-fi
